Popping the clutch while your rear tire is mid slid is a skill that comes with time. Planting your foot for stability during the drift helps the rider to gauge how far down they are from the ground during the donut. Keeping the rear tire spinning and in the drift is very important to successfully not get highsided or lowsided off of your motorcycle. You should always wear protective riding gear when learning a new trick including, a DOT approved helmet, riding gloves, Kevlar jeans, motorcycle jacket, and ankle high rider’s shoes. Tires also should be at the proper PSI to ensure good traction to the ground.
